KELLER Diamant
Winterthur, Schweiz
Project Overview
The KELLER Diamant project represents the largest scale application of Solskin so far, designed to cover 1,300 square meters. The system, currently expected to be commissioned by summer of 2025, mounted on the advanced manufacturing facility of KELLER Druckmesstechnik AG reflects the company's commitment to technology, innovation, and employee well-being. The KELLER Druckmesstechnik AG is family business with a long track record of innovation which made them a global leader in high-precision pressure transducers
The design for the “Diamant” by Strut Architekten AG seamlessly integrates the Solskin climate-adaptive facade system on the south facade to reduce energy consumption, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain optimal indoor conditions. Particularly the dynamic PV electricity production provided by Solskin was an important aspect for the investors as it provides a share of the large operational energy need of the building. In addition to this, the system features smart shading capabilities which significantly cut climatisation energy demands. This project showcases Solskins’ potential for large-scale industrial use.

Context
KELLER Druckmesstechnik AG faced two critical challenges with its south-facing facade: an excessive solar load, which particularly in summer would result in unwanted interior heat, which in turn increased cooling demands, and high energy consumption due to the manufacturing machinery. The architectural design for the building had to embody the company's values of precision and innovation while ensuring a comfortable environment for employees. This balance between functionality and aesthetics was paramount to the project’s success.
Solskin Implementation
Solskin will be integrated on the facade, creating a seamless combination of smart shading and solar energy production, made highly efficient through solar tracking. This innovative, user-friendly solution merges corporate sustainability with architectural design. With 3,500 movable modules, the Solskin facade dynamically adjusts its orientation to optimize solar energy capture while providing effective shading, maintaining natural light exposure, and preserving the aesthetic integrity of the building. The lightweight modules, mounted on a sleek facade mesh, respond in real time to environmental conditions, balancing energy efficiency, daylight control, and thermal comfort.
