Compliant design of the soft robotic actuation

With its unique actuation system Solskin unlocks new capabilities only possible with a moving system. As a compliant actuation mechanism however this does not become a liability or introduce weak points. Imagine Solskin’s actuator similar to a human muscle, which can be stiffened under loads but does not break under force. Large loads, for example wind get absorbed in damped vibrations, similar to how tree branches move in a storm without breaking.

Tested under all conditions for up to 100 years

More than 13 iterations of Solskin have been tested in real conditions for their durability and long term performance. In our in-house testing laboratory and in certified testing Labs in Switzerland all parts of our Solskin are put to the test.
A range of installations in different climatic zones such as Alpine, coastal and desert environments should provide us with even more insights to create the best possible product.
Our lifetime tests are currently conducted to simulate 100 years of operations.
